Newcastle's center back scores his first two goals in stoppage time to stun Everton (video)
Florian Lejeune picked a hell of a time to score his first and second career Newcastle United goals.
Lejeune scored twice in stoppage time Tuesday and Newcastle shocked hosts Everton in a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.
The first goal was a bicycle kick that even a striker would be proud of:
The second came in the fourth minute of added time amid an absolute mess in front of Jordan Pickford’s net. Former Atlanta United star Miguel Almiron started the sequence by lashing a shot across goal:
The 28-year-old Lejeune replaced Ciaran Clark in the second half, and has been at Newcastle since summer 2017 when he signed from Eibar.
Everton was the better side for much of the night, and even saw former Juventus striker Moise Kean score his first goal for the club:
Dominic Calvert-Lewin doubled the lead shortly after halftime and the Toffees thought they were cruising.
Turns out they needed one more goal. They just didn’t expect the center back to score them.
