Brooklyn Nets forward Ben Simmons is listed on the NBA’s official injury report as out for Wednesday’s game against the Washington Wizards because of left knee soreness. Simmons left Monday’s 109-102 win over the Orlando Magic in the second quarter with left knee soreness and did not return. At the time Simmons left with 9:03 left in the second quarter, Orlando was leading 28-27.

Wednesday will be the seventh game that Simmons has missed this season because of the knee ailment. The unfortunate thing is, Simmons has been playing well recently and has been more aggressive than he has been in quite some time.

Nets coach Jacque Vaughn gave more information on Simmons’ latest setback:

“Talked to the performance team about that. We were warned about that just as these games start to add up. His cumulative load as that begins to add up, it’s really stretching him sometimes the amount of games we’ve just had with the minutes that he’s played pretty high going into (Monday’s) game.”
