In a bold move, Netflix has decided not to renew the teen Sherlock Holmes drama The Irregulars.
The first season landed on the streaming service in March and told the story of a group of street rats being manipulated by the mysterious Dr Watson into solving supernatural mysteries and in doing so, discovering hidden truths about their family and grief.
The show was overall a success, reaching the Top 10 on Netflix and holding onto it for several weeks after its release.
While Netflix didn't give a reason for the cancellation, the comparison to the streamer's previous period drama Bridgerton and its astounding success might have something to do with the decision to renew one and not the other.
Many upset fans took to Twitter to voice their disappointment about the show's cancellation.
This news comes the same week that Netflix already announced its plans to cancel another two shows: Last Kingdom and Katherine Ryan's The Duchess.
The Irregulars season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
