The Philadelphia 76ers were able to get a win over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night to begin a three-game road trip led by Joel Embiid. The All-Star big man, after a slow start in terms of sloppy play, finished with 33 points and 10 rebounds in order to lead the Sixers to another win and keep them moving in the right direction.

Along with Embiid’s efforts, the Sixers received 25 points from Tyrese Maxey off the bench. After struggling to shoot the ball in two straight games, it was a much-needed night for the young man out of Kentucky.

James Harden, fresh off a surprising All-Star snub, had 16 points and eight assists, Georges Niang had 13, Shake Milton had 14, and Tobias Harris added eight. The Sixers have now won 22 of their last 27 games as they now head to New York on Sunday.
