The Celtics are have traded the big man to the Dallas Mavericks in the deal to acquire Josh Richardson.
Brown was acquired as part of the June trade that sent Kemba Walker to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 21-year-old averaged 8.6 points and 8.9 rebounds in 43 games with OKC last season.
In addition to Richardson, the Celtics also received point guard Kris Dunn and center Bruno Fernando from the Atlanta Hawks on Friday in a three-team deal that sent center Tristan Thompson to the Sacramento Kings.
