There are two big interior trends set to be big in 2021: the natural look, gathering momentum thanks to people wanting to reconnect with the outdoors, and 'Regencycore,' inspired by a number of popular period dramas.

The two trends are quite different: neutral and simple vs. grand and elegant – but there is one way to perfectly combine them in the bedroom in the form of a natural finish statement bed.

Whether you’re looking for a pared-back Scandinavian feel or a grand, eclectic look, the And So To Bed Louis XV Caned Bed is a statement piece that brings a natural tone, through its timber frame and rattan finish, as well as a period look, through its hand-carved rose motifs.

Inspired by the intricate designs of the Rococo period, the origins of this graceful design were made famous by King Louis XV and his mistress Madame de Pompadour. Seen in both luxury homes and hotels alike, this lavish, ornamental bed is a popular choice amongst interior devotees.

5 New Year sleep tips

Sleep expert, Dr. Lindsay Browning, says that, as we enter 2021, it is important now more than ever to focus on self-care and a well-rested sleep. Here are her tips for a good night's sleep:

1. Regular bedtimes: Go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time each day.

2. Night mode: Set your devices to automatically go into "night mode" in the evening - reducing your exposure to blue light.

3. Screen time: Try to avoid screen time an hour before you go to bed; and keep phones and laptops out of the bedroom overnight.

4. Wind down time: Make time to relax and wind down before bed (read or have a bath before you go to bed)

5. Exercise: Get some regular exercise in the day (it is great for your mental health, physical health and good for your sleep).

6. Get outdoors: Even if you are stuck at home in the lockdown, make sure you get outside for a walk once per day, or at least go outside in your garden. Ideally get outside between 11am-1pm. We need natural light during the day to help us sleep at night.
