Mud Hens' bats lead them past Sounds, 9-6

May 6—The Mud Hens began their season on Tuesday, and have already scored as many as runs as their major league affiliate in the Tigers' past seven games, heading into Detroit's Wednesday night game.

Detroit and Toledo have both scored 17 runs. The only difference is the Tigers scored that many in the past week where as the Mud Hens have scored 17 in two games.

While the Tigers' bats have been quite, their Triple-A affiliate have found success at the plate.

The Mud Hens continued their early hot-streak at the plate with eight hits in their 9-6 win over the Nashville Sounds.

Drew Hutchison started the game for the Mud Hens. He pitched four innings and gave up three runs (two earned). Hutchison struggled with his command. He issued back-to-back walks in the second inning, and finished the game with four walks and a hit by pitch.

The right-hander struck out three Nashville batters, including back-to-back strikeouts in the second inning.

Right-hander Thomas Jankins got the start for the Sounds.
