Early Career and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Sandra Oh is a Canadian-born actress hailing from Ontario, and she got her start on the stage of David Mamet’s “Oleanna” in Ontario after paying her own way through the National Theatre School of Canada, Celebrity Net Worth reports. Her breakout role in the Canadian film “Double Happiness” earned her a Genie Award. Americans may recognize her best for her film work in “Under the Tuscan Sun” and “Sideways,” as well as, of course, her role as Yang on “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Oh earned around $8.4 million per year on “Grey’s,” ranking her along with co-stars Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo as the fifth highest-paid TV stars at the time, according to Stylecaster.

Moving On to ‘Killing Eve’ and More

After leaving “Grey’s,” Oh took the leading role and associate producer title on the BBC drama, “Killing Eve.” Websites like Stylecaster surmise that Oh is making at least as much as she did on “Grey’s” for the newer show. She also continues to earn money for syndication of “Grey’s,” StyleCaster said.

Her new dramatic series was renewed for a second season before the debut of its first season and was immediately picked up for a third just one day after the second season premier. Shortly after, it was renewed for a fourth season. She won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama and became the first woman of Asian descent to win two Golden Globe Awards.

Oh hosted the Golden Globes in 2019, which includes a host’s fee of at least $15,000, or the union minimum, according to GQ.

Her accolades include many award wins and nominations, a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame and the National Arts Centre Award from the Governor General of Canada (2019).
