BRONSON, MI. — The Quincy MS Orioles took a hard fought two game sweep over the host Bronson MS Vikings Monday night, winning in both the seventh and eighth grade boys basketball games.

In the seventh grade battle the Orioles improved to 8-0 on the season with a 56-30 victory.

Quincy controlled the first half of the game, outscoring Bronson 26-12 going into the half. The Vikings fought hard in the second half and battled back to within 13 points with three minutes left on the clock, but the Orioles held on and pulled away for the win.

Noah Kelley led the Quincy effort with 16 points, followed by Bryson Estlow and Joe Gray with 10 points each. Also adding to the Quincy effort was Grant Longardner with six points; Norris with two points; and Benny Travelbee with two points.

Leading the Bronson effort was Owen Losinski with 12 points while Naz Salesman added eight points and six rebounds. Also chipping in for the Viking effort was Joseph Bir, Quinten Rinkel, and Denis Silver all of whom contributed on the offensive end while Siler added six rebounds to help the defense.

Bronson falls to 2-4 on the season with the loss and will next see action Wednesday when they head to Springport to face a very good Spartans squad. The seventh grade Quincy Orioles improve to 8-0 on the year and have a huge game on the horizon as they travel to face the Union City Chargers.

In the eighth grade contest it was Quincy taking home the victory, defeating Bronson by the score of 38-34.

Bronson came out playing solid defense but struggled on the offensive end in the tough loss.

Warner Wotta led the Bronson effort with a double-double, recording 15 points and 10 rebounds. Wotta also added two assists. Also adding to the Bronson effort twas Layne Arver with 11 points and two assists; Wyatt Weinberg with six points; Devin Stuart with two points and five steals; and Ben Stevens with six steals and two assists.

No stats for Quincy were reported for the win.

With the loss Bronson falls to 4-2 on the year.

Union City drops two versus Springport

UNION CITY, MI. — The Union City MS boys basketball teams struggled through a tough night Monday night, falling to Springport in both games.

In the seventh grade game it was Springport taking the 56-49 win. Leading the Union City effort was Braxton Miller with 17 points.

In the eighth grade contest it was Springport taking down Union City 66-24. Union City was led by Micah Payne with 12 points.
