Ptah Williams Jazz Trio Live

Listen to the unpredictable style of the Ptah Williams Jazz Trio at the Hoogland Center For The Arts on Friday.

The event will take place at 8 p.m. in the club room of the Hoogland Center, 420 S. Sixth St.

Cinema Under the Stars

Join the Chatham Area Public Library District for a showing of "Clifford the Big Red Dog" at its Cinema Under the Stars event on Friday.

The free event will take place beginning about 8 p.m. on the south lawn of the Chatham Area Public Library, 600 E. Spruce St.

"Clifford the Big Red Dog"is an action comedy film directed by Walt Becker and based on the Norman Bridwell children's book series. In the movie, a 12-year-old girl adopts a puppy who she quickly learns can grow in size based on the amount of love she gives. The film stars Jack Whitehall, Darby Camp, Tony Hale, Sienna Guillory, David Alan Grier, Russell Wong and John Cleese.

Paint and Acquaint

Mingle with some of Springfield's most influential women at the Paint and Acquaint event Saturday hosted by the Dollhouse Project.

The free event will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Venue 1929, 711 S. Fifth St.

Painting tools will be provided by the Springfield Police Department and refreshments will be available. The event is in partnership with Springfield War 5 Ald. Lakeisha Purchase, Memorial Health, the Springfield police and Comcast.

State of The Sistahood Part 2

Transforming Life Connect LLC will host the second round of the State of The Sistahood networking event series on Saturday.

The event will take place from noon until 4 p.m. at Venue on the Curve, 1029 Wabash Ave.

Conversations about mental health, self care and support will be included and variety of vendors will be present. Owner of 180Fitness gym, Dee Dixon, and CEO of Poised for Purpose Inc. Tyra Jones, will participate as guest panelists.

Screening of movie 'Rosewood'

Black Lives Matter Springfield and the Springfield Black Chamber of Commerce will host a screening of the movie "Rosewood" on Sunday.

The event is in honor of Black Business Month and will take place at the Hoogland Center for the Arts at 12:30 p.m.

"Rosewood" is a historical drama film based on the 1923 mob attack on an African American community in Florida. The film, directed by John Singleton, stars Jon Voight, Ving Rhames and Don Cheadle.
