SLIPPERY ROCK TWP. — A Lawrence County landmark will be seen in an upcoming Hollywood film starring Christian Bale.

Scenes for the upcoming film "The Pale Blue Eye" are currently being shot at McConnell's Mill Covered Bridge.

The film is an adaptation of the 2006 book by the same name.

It follows a detective investigating a series of murders, helped by a detail-oriented young cadet who will later become the world-famous author Edgar Allan Poe, according to the Internet Movie Database, or IMDb.

County commissioners approved an agreement with the film's production company Tuesday.

Interim County Administrator Joseph Venasco said the bridge will be closed for around three weeks, though emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass through at any time, even if the movie is in the middle of filming.

He added there is communication between the production committee, different county officials and departments and officials from Slippery Rock Township.
