Artists will create their work outdoors between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in areas of their choosing on and around the Mount Agamenticus summit; they will then ‘wet mount’ their work for exhibit and sale that evening at York Art Association, where a public opening/artists’ reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with refreshments available. YAA is located at 394 York St., York Harbor and is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Finished paintings will be on display at YAA beginning July 30 through the month of August, and a 40% commission on all work sold will support York Art Association, an organization providing opportunities and empowering people of all walks of life to enjoy the arts and the Friends of Mount Agamenticus, a volunteer advocacy and stewardship group for the Mount Agamenticus Conservation Program; both are nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations.

Artists can pre-register by filling out the form at https://agamenticus.org/foma/plein-air-paint-out/. There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee (includes one boxed lunch) payable to the "Friends of Mount Agamenticus” for this event. Please note that spots are limited and pre-registration does not guarantee a spot; submissions, including artwork samples, are due by June 13 and review will begin at that time.

Mount Agamenticus is open to the public from dawn to dusk all year; however, parking is limited and certain health protocols remain in effect; please plan ahead and visit: https://agamenticus.org for the most up-to-date information about visiting.
