Motorcyclist dies in early morning crash in West Creek

EAGLESWOOD – A motorcyclist died after crashing into a tree in West Creek on Saturday morning, authorities said.

Rolf Demmerle, 63, of West Creek, was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle at 7:40 am. He was heading north on US-9 when his vehicle left the highway around mile point 68.3 and hit a tree, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation, officials said.
