Morning mock draft: NFL.com adds to Bills’ rushing attack

It’s early… Very early in the 2023 NFL offseason.

But Bijan Robinson to the Buffalo Bills is becoming a constantly-made connection. The latest came from NFL.com.

The realization of free agency being before the draft is pointed out by the outlet. That plays a big part here. Robinson to Buffalo might make tons of sense when that comes and goes.

We’ll let them explain that:

Would the Bills really draft a back in Round 1? If Devin Singletary walks in free agency, maybe. This offense needs another outlet, and Robinson is one of the top playmakers in this class, a spectacular all-around talent worthy of going much higher.

Singletary sees his rookie contract run out in March. While he did have promising flashes during his first pro contract, the Bills are really against it in terms of the salary cap.

Buffalo is projected to be $20 million over next year’s cap as things currently stand. In order to retain some of his pending free agents such as Singletary, general manager Brandon Beane has a lot of work in front of him.

Potentially the cheaper and smarter option could be Robinson. Last season, the junior rushed for 1,580 rushing yards, an average of 6.1 per carry, with 20 total touchdowns in 12 games.

The six-foot back has a big frame at 220 pounds. The Draft Network raves about his build and athleticism. But he has dealt with injuries.

Again, it’s early, but depending on how free agency unfolds, Robinson could become the new player to share Buffalo’s backfield with James Cook in 2023.
