PELLSTON — Pellston Public Schools has announced that Maggie Nestle is the valedictorian for the Class of 2022, and Isaiah Crawford has been named the salutatorian.
Maggie is the daughter of Kristin Hatfield and Robert Nestle. She will graduate with a 3.89 grade point average.
While in high school, Maggie was active in the National Honor Society and worked in the school store.
After graduation, Maggie plans to attend North Central Michigan College and study psychology, with the goal of becoming a counselor and serving the youths of Northern Michigan.
Isaiah is the son of Ken and Jenny Crawford. He will graduate with a 3.62 grade point average.
While in high school, Isaiah played football, basketball, baseball and wrestled. He was also active in the National Honor Society.
After high school, Isaiah plans to attend North Central Michigan College with a focus in general studies. He plans to become a physical therapist upon completion of his college degree.
Pellston will celebrate commencement on June 3. A graduation parade will take place at 6 p.m., lining up at the elementary school and ending at the football stadium parking lot. The graduation ceremony will then take place at 8 p.m. at the football stadium. Families are asked to bring their own chairs for seating on the field. Fireworks are planned following the ceremony.
