Montgomery Zoo Christmas Lights Festival open now through Dec. 25
See the Montgomery Zoo transformed into a winter wonderland with thousands of sparkling, twinkling light displays and festive decorations.
The Christmas Lights Festival will be held Dec 3-25, 5:30–9 p.m. nightly at 2301 Coliseum Parkway. It's a holiday tradition the River Region has enjoyed for generations.
Guests can take a leisurely stroll full of lights and music, enjoy a brisk train ride, or glide through the air on the sky lift ride.
Swing by the Mann Museum to view 25 Christmas trees decorated by various companies, groups, and organizations from the River Region community at the Max Credit Union Christmas Tree Village. See the holiday spirit in action with thousands of holiday ornaments, lights, ribbon, and bows.
At the end of the Christmas Tree Village, Santa and his elves await a visit with all the little boys, girls, and their families. Visit with Santa and capture a memory with a keepsake photo ($5 per photo).
Enjoy live entertainment at the zoo's Overlook Cafe. Friday will have Christian hip-hop artist Vy Moon at 8 p.m. Saturday features Rachel and Jason Rhodes from 6-9 p.m.
While you're there, no winter's night would be complete without some warming hot chocolate and fresh baked cookies from the cafe, which is open until 8 p.m.
Also, make plans to swing by the gift shops for last minute gift purchases, souvenirs, and to participate in the Zoo Animal Conservation Angel Tree, with donations helping conservation efforts at the zoo and around the world.
Admission is $10 for everyone 3 years old and older. It's free for Montgomery Zoo members.
