Montgomery helps SW end losing streak

Jan. 25—After going 0-4 during its recent homestand, the South Windsor High boys basketball team took to the road Monday to bring home a win.

Hakim Montgomery scored 20 points as the Bobcats defeated Rocky Hill 55-37 in a CCC interdivisional game.

Anthony DeCiantis added 14 points while Ben Brochu chipped in 10 points, five assists, and four steals for South Windsor (4-8), which snapped a six-game losing streak overall with its first win since Dec. 28.

The Bobcats led 22-19 halftime and broke it open against Rocky Hill (0-12) with a 15-6 third-quarter surge.

South Windsor is back on the road Thursday to take on Simsbury.

MANCHESTER 68, GLASTONBURY 64. In Glastonbury, Troy Butler scored 16 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter as Manchester earned a CCC interdivisional win.

The Red Hawks (8-3) used a 30-point fourth quarter to erase a two-point deficit. Damian Sanchez had seven of his 13 points in the period and was 4-for-4 at the foul line down the stretch. Laquonne Thomas chipped in 10 points.

Trey Tennyson had 14 points and Adam Moulsis 13 for the Guardians (2-9).

Glastonbury travels to Bridgeport to take on Warren Harding Wednesday. Manchester visits No. 2 Northwest Catholic tonight.

EAST HARTFORD 57, SOUTHINGTON 55. In East Hartford, Favour Okeke had 24 points and Chris Lomax a double-double (11 points, 12 rebounds) in the Hornets' CCC interdivisional victory.

East Hartford (7-5) made it four wins in a row and six wins in its last seven games. Dom Laduca hit three 3-pointers and added 11 points for the Hornets.

Southington (4-6) received 23 points from Ryan Hammerland.

East Hartford visits No. 8 East Catholic on Wednesday.
