No. 1 Chambers boys stop Myers Park; Myers Park girls topple No. 1 Chambers

After losing a close game to nationally ranked Combine Academy Saturday, Sweet 16 No. 1 Chambers High School bounced back with a 70-56 win at home over No. 6 Myers Park

Maurio Hanson had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Chambers, which led 20-10 after the first quarter and 32-20 at halftime.

The Mustangs won the third quarter 23-16 to get close but Chambers dominated the fourth quarter. Chambers guard Jaylen Curry had 15 points, six assists. Center Daniel Sanford had 12 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists.

Myers Park girls knock off No. 1 Chambers in OT

Myers Park’s girls, No. 4 in the Sweet 16, got a big win Tuesday, stopping No. 1 Chambers 50-45 on the road in overtime.

The game was close throughout and Chamber forced overtime by limiting Myers Park to four points in the fourth quarter.

The Mustangs (3-0) got 16 points from MIa Xerras and 13 from Ann Giannopoulou. Chambers (2-1) got 12 from Mia Holloway and 10 from Aaliyah El.
