Mom’s recipe for hidden veggie pasta has a hilarious ending: ‘I know the frustration’

This mom on TikTok posted a video featuring a delicious recipe for a pasta dinner with a hidden serving of vegetables that she made for her picky toddlers, who, much to viewers’ surprise and amusement, refused to eat it.

If your child is a picky eater, it can be challenging to incorporate balance into their diet. TikToker and parent, Z’Anni Gibbs (@zannigibbsxo), is so well-versed in this matter that her entire page is dedicated to making “easy toddler recipes.” Recently, Gibbs shared a recipe for a delicious pasta dish containing a secret serving of vegetables. However, while the recipe looked tasty throughout the video, the bleak final review from her picky-eating toddlers had viewers in stitches.

“My toddlers have been super picky lately,” Gibbs’ voice-over audio says at the beginning of the clip. Because her kids only want to eat French fries and chicken nuggets, she made them a hidden veggie pasta in an attempt to break the cycle.

Over corresponding footage, Gibbs explains that she added chopped tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, sweet peppers, onions, and garlic with some olive oil, Italian seasoning, and salt.

After baking at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes, she transfers the vegetables to a blender before adding some seasoning and heavy cream.

Finally, Gibbs thoroughly combines the sauce with cooked pasta noodles. She sprinkles some parmesan cheese over each bowl of pasta, then tries to feed her toddlers before mentioning dryly that “they did not eat it” at the end of the video.

While viewers enjoyed the pasta dish recipe, the video’s abrupt ending had them in hysterics.

“Girl, I know the frustration, but that ending was hilarious,” one user mentioned.

“I appreciate your hard work. It looked delicious, but I can 100% relate,” shared one parent.

“I’m like, ‘Wow, brilliant! This looks so good. Doing this today!’ ‘They did not eat it,’” one viewer joked.
Someday, Gibbs’ toddlers will expand their palette beyond chicken nuggets and French fries, but for now, she can take solace in knowing that she’s not the only parent of picky eaters.
