As the Philadelphia 76ers look to continue to grow as a team, they have begun to turn things around and look like the team many thought they would be after the additions they made in the offseason. After a tough start, they have won seven of their last nine games and are now 12-9 on the season.

With that being said, the Sixers are looking to win a championship in the 2022-23 season and president Daryl Morey is always on the lookout for any possible trades and upgrades he can make to the team.

Phoenix Suns veteran Jae Crowder has been one to watch on the trade market as he continues to wait to be moved out of Phoenix. A mock trade performed by Bleacher Report has the Sixers acquiring Crowder in a deal with the Suns.

The fake trade proposal

Phoenix Suns Receive: PF Tobias Harris, C Paul Reed, SG Jaden Springer

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F Jae Crowder, SG Landry Shamet, F/C Dario Saric, F Torrey Craig

B/R on why the Sixers do this deal

Adding Harris as a pick-and-pop veteran who can rebound and pass makes the Suns even more of a title threat, especially since Chris Paul is finally starting to show his age.

Philly splits Harris’ contract into bite-sized pieces and picks up some quality role players in the process.

Crowder would likely take Harris’ starting spot, while Shamet, Saric and Craig bring three-point shooting, playmaking and defense to the Sixers’ second unit.

Analyzing the deal from a Sixers standpoint

Crowder had two productive seasons in Phoenix averaging 9.7 points while shooting 36.9% on 5.9 attempts per game. That type of production would flourish next to James Harden and Joel Embiid as he has mastered being a spot shooter in this league. Shamet began his career in Philadelphia and the Sixers would always welcome his shooting back to this team while Saric, another former Sixer, and Craig would provide quality depth.

The reason why the Sixers probably don’t do this deal is how valuable Harris is to this team as a leader for this group. On top of that, he has become elite in his role and Reed has also continued to develop into being a legitimate backup big man. Springer, though injured right now, offers a lot of intrigue as a perimeter defender for the future.
