Mitchell's Masy Mock edges Reese Jansa on playoff hole for SDGA Junior Championship

Jul. 27—BRANDON — Mitchell's Masy Mock edged Sioux Falls' Reese Jansa for first place at the 2021 South Dakota Golf Association Junior Championship on Tuesday at Brandon Golf Course.

In the 16-18 girls division, Mock and Jansa tied for first place with 10-over-pars 152. Mock won title after beating Jansa on the first playoff hole.

It's the second time the golfers battled it out on extra holes this season. On July 19, Mock and Jansa were tied after 18 holes at the South Dakota Golf Association/Sanford Golf Series Championship at The Country Club in Sioux Falls. After four playoff holes, Jansa won with a par on No. 16.

On Tuesday, Mitchell's Quinn Dannenbring finished first over Mitchell's Allison Meyerink in the girls 14-15 division. Dannenbring shot a 31-over-par 173. She shot an 85 on Monday and an 88 on Tuesday. Her cumulative score of 173 put her three strokes ahead of second-place Meyerink who shot 87 on Monday and 89 on Tuesday, giving her a score of 176.

Aberdeen's Emma Dohrer won the 12-13 girls division shooting an 11-over-par 82. Vermillion's Ronnie Wilharm shot a 1-under-par 35 to win the 10-11 girls division.

In boys action, Mitchell's Asher Dannenbring finished in sixth in the boys 12-13 division. He was eight shots behind Yankton's Easton Vellek, who finished in first with a 73. Watertown's Jake Olsen shot a 1-over-par 143 to win the 16-18 boys' division, while Pierre's Nicklaus Bothun shot a 6-over-par 154 to finish first in the 14-15 boys' division. In the boys 10-11 division, Clark's Kaden Wookey shot a 45 that landed him in first place.

In the 9-and-under boys and girls division, Sioux Falls' Lincoln Trasamar won the boys division shooting a 2-under-par 34 while Faith Roehrich, of Watertown, shot a 13-over-par 49 to finish first in the girls division.
