CNN’s Sara Sidner reported from Brooklyn Center, Minn., Monday night as protests continue following the police killing of Daunte Wright a day earlier. During her live report, Sidner was interrupted by a protester who made clear his disdain for the media. The protester, who refused to give his name, accused Sidner — and all media for that matter — of trying to portray protesters in a negative light.

Asked what he thought of the situation, the man answered, “What I think about this is all the press, and all the extra s**t y’all do, makes this worse.”

Sidner then had to convince the man that they were on live television after he said CNN would edit out the encounter. Once he was convinced that they were live, his message stayed the same.

“I don’t care if you’re live or not,” the man said. “Get out of here with all that media s**t that y’all are doing.”

The man again accused Sidner of trying to make the protesters look crazy, then directed her to the crowd so they could get the real story.

“We are going up there,” Sidner responded. “That’s where we were going when you stopped us.”

As she walked toward the protesters, Sidner said, “Alright, so everybody’s got a hot head right now as you might imagine.”

Sidner later echoed that sentiment in a tweet.
