A Milwaukee man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the city's north side, police say

A 55-year-old Milwaukee man died Friday evening after he was struck in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s north side.

Police said the unidentified man was walking in the 4000 block of North Teutonia Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle.

The crash happened about 8:00 pm. The driver fled the scene after the crash. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. Police continue to seek an unknown driver and a white Chevy Impala with front end damage.

Through Thursday, Milwaukee had recorded 48 fatal crashes that killed 49 people, according to statistics from the city's Traffic Safety Unit. Those totals do not include Friday’s hit-and-run. There were 62 fatal crashes in all of 2021.
