Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino and wife Lauren reveal miscarriage: 'It was heart-wrenching'
Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and his wife, Lauren, faced another heartache, a miscarriage, not long after he was released from federal prison in September.
As Lauren shared during Monday’s edition of Strahan, Sara and Keke, she discovered that she was ovulating just as Sorrentino returned home.
“So the night he came home, we actually conceived, and then at about six-and-a-half, seven weeks, I miscarried,” she said as she became emotional.
“So it was heart-wrenching,” Lauren said. “When we found out we were pregnant, I felt like, this is why we went through all these challenges for years and that it was our time, and it was our blessing.”
The loss was “hard” and “really difficult,” she said.
As she spoke, Mike confirmed what she was saying by nodding his head and saying, “yeah.”
Lauren noted that she had to rely on her faith, as she always does in such tough times.
“If I didn’t have my faith, I wouldn’t be here,” she said.
Lauren, who married her longtime love in 2018, explained why the couple wanted to tell their story.
“We share so much of our life. And we’ve already shared so many negative things that we’ve gone through that I didn’t want to hold this in,” she said. “I wanted to share it for other people going through it and, you know, just be honest, so that I can kind of heal through the process.”
When Mike was released from prison, both Sorrentinos said they wanted children. “We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations!” they said in a statement to People.
Lauren marked the news about their latest interview in an Instagram post that prompted love from fans and friends alike.
His Jersey Shore co-star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi wrote “love you both!”
