Singer Mike Posner has taken to Instagram to reveal he was airlifted to hospital after being bitten by a rattlesnake on Wednesday 7 August.
The Cooler Than Me hitmaker has been trekking across the US for the last four months, releasing a new song with each state he passes through.
So far, he has walked over 1600 miles and visited states such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Missouri and Colorado.
In a video shared on social media, the 31-year-old seemed in unusually high spirits as he explained: “Crazy day yesterday! I had just crushed 16 miles and was going for 8 more when I got bit by a baby rattlesnake!
“That venom is no joke,” he laughed. “I got to the hospital and got the anti-venom in time.”
Posner also paid tribute to the nurses who have been caring for him and the “chopper team” who acted so quickly.
“Shout outs to G and Mike from the chopper team, and Bo and Cassie and Whitney (my nurses). I’ll be here a few days and will not be able to walk for several weeks but enjoying the AC and the nice bed, haven’t had those in a while Hahahaha!
“Can’t wait to get back on The Walk,” he added. “KEEP GOING!!!!!!”

British rapper Tinie Tempah commented, “Hope you’re ok broski get better soon [sic],” while Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown wrote: “What!!!! Get well soon, sending best wishes to you.”
