Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee drew massive criticism online for his controversial tweet that said he now identifies as “Chinese,” as hate crimes against Asian Americans surge. The 65-year-old Fox News contributor made the controversial post on his Twitter on April 3. “I’ve decided to 'identify' as Chinese,” he said, adding, “Coke will like me, Delta will agree with my ‘values’ and I’ll probably get shoes from Nike & tickets to @MLB games. Ain’t America great?” Many social media users criticized Huckabee for his comment, including evangelist Beth Moore, retired FBI Assistant Director Frank Figliuzzi, actress/activist Patricia Arquette and Long Beach City Mayor Robert Garcia.
Mike, I’ve shared a meal with you at your beautiful table. I’ve heard you profess Christ as Lord. This is entirely antithetical to the gospel.

This is disgraceful.

Elderly Asian women are getting beaten up on the street and you say this?
— Patricia Arquette (@PattyArquette) April 4, 2021
This is awful. And embarrassing that you were a Governor in our country. We deserve better.
— Robert Garcia (@RobertGarcia) April 4, 2021
Pretty racist and scummy. Hope Twitter bans you for fomenting anti-Asian hate. #StopAsianHate

Disgusting.

You are such an awful, hateful person. After beginning my adulthood attending seminary, people like you and all of you evil evangelicals are what drove me to finally abandoned the church and simply rely on my own faith. Any institution that generates such hatred is an abomination

I will pray on this eve of Easter that the light of truth will shine on you. That hate will be removed from your soul and decency and love be resurrected. And that the words of Jesus will one day dwell in your heart. With faith hope and love I pray you are changed to good.

I remember when you used to pretend to be a Christian. Glad you finally gave that up.

No one has ever liked you, and no one ever will.

I decided to identify as a Democrat because I've learned over the years that Republicans are full of racists schmucks like yourself.

Huckabee’s tweet was intended to call out the companies that came forward to express their dissatisfaction with Georgia’s newly passed bill that makes it more difficult to vote via absentee ballot, Esquire reported. Delta Airlines CEO Ed Bastian criticized the new election reform bill in a lengthy statement saying in part, “I need to make it crystal clear that the final bill is unacceptable and does not match Delta's values.” Coca-Cola released a statement that the company’s focus now is on “supporting federal legislation that protects voting access and addresses voter suppression across the country.” Huckabee has since responded to some of the backlash.
Hi @BethMooreLPM I love you & appreciate your ministry. I don’t take Twitter or myself that seriously but I do take gospel seriously. I truly wish you only joy & continued blessings. May the power of the resurrection lift you to high places this Easter weekend my dear sister! https://t.co/VwFcAefden

Breaking wind from CNN! Coke will announce name change today to "Woke-A-Cola" which has been approved by the Chinese Communist Party & by the leftist loons who the company bows to more than their actual customers. #CancelCulture
