Michigan football fans suddenly love Jim Harbaugh after Ohio State upset

The sixth time's the charm for Jim Harbaugh and Michigan football.

The Wolverines finally defeated their rivals to the south Saturday, taking down No. 3 Ohio State 42-27. An eight-game losing streak, done. Harbaugh is now 1-5 and 1-3 vs. the Ohio State and his team gets a shot to play for a Big Ten title.

But enough about the past (and future). Let's focus on today.

DONE AND DONE: Why Michigan must prove this year was not a mirage

HE WAS READY: Why Michigan CB DJ Turner doesn't fear Big Ten's best wide receivers

Hassan Haskins had about as many trips to the end zone (five) as most people had to their Thanksgiving spread two days ago. Aidan Hutchinson had more sacks (three) by himself than the Buckeyes could muster as a team. The U-M offensive line (297 rushing yards) looked like it could move a mountain if it stood between the Wolverines and a fresh set of downs.

And Michigan fans left Michigan Stadium with a feeling don't usually have when Ohio State comes to town.

The warm and fuzzies even led to love for Harbaugh, the much-maligned head coach who dealt with questions about his job security in the offseason and took a pay cut ahead of this season. Last week, Michigan fans were just happy to not have James Franklin calling the shots. This week, fans of the maize and blue seemed genuinely appreciative of their head coach.

This could be a fleeting moment, based on what happens in the Big Ten title game and thereafter, so let's take in the adoration while we can:

Just a couple of Wolverine coaches. Juwan Howard has had his own ups and downs with the Buckeyes, so he gets it.

Ha, you had doubts? Sav never did.

Harbaugh saved you some time, Paul. Good point, other Paul.
