MI Dream Home: Lake Oakland remodel offers lakefront living, rooftop deck

Feb. 27—WATERFORD — A contemporary style house that's on the market offers lakefront living in Oakland County and a rooftop deck.

The owner of the 3,442-square-foot, three-story home located on East Meyers Road and on the shore of Lake Oakland is asking $1.7 million.

Antonio Morell, the Clarkston-based agent for Real Estate One who is on the listing, said the home is still under construction and the owner hopes to work with the buyer on the finishing touches, such as wall colors, cabinets and floors. He said the walls have been primed.

Despite not being fully completed, Morell said the home is a one-of-a-kind lake house.

"It's the most modern home on that lake," he said. "There isn't another one like it."

He said the owner has put so much into the home and made sure "everything in it is eco-friendly and "green"' from top to bottom. "He's gone above and beyond with the home."

The 4-year-old house has four bedrooms and six bathrooms. It also has 72 feet of sandy waterfront on Lake Oakland. The house's lake-facing side is wrapped in glass windows, providing a great view of the water and shore.

Morell also said the lake can be a great source of fun. "Lake Oakland is an all-sports lake," he said. "So that's everything from fishing to jet skiing to tubing."

But the house's best feature, Morell said, has to be its rooftop deck, which is perfect for entertaining.

"It's beautiful," he said. "You can easily fit a lot of people up there. And the view — it's gorgeous."

Morell said the house is tailor-made for someone who wants to live on a lake.

"This is perfect for someone who doesn't want to maintain a backyard and just wants to enjoy living on a lake," he said. "It's a good-time house, for sure."
