Medway football player Brett Curran does whatever he can to help team win

He was asked to switch positions. The team needed him on the offensive line. So Brett Curran said “Whatever you need, Coach.”

“Testament of a team captain,” said his football coach.

Bellingham High junior Joey Corsi got a chance to honor his late father last week.

“It was (an) awesome experience and it was amazing playing in my dad’s uniform. … I know he is watching from above.”

Daily News Female Athlete of the Year 2022

Hopkinton's Kate Powers is the Daily News female Athlete of the Year, July 15, 2022.  Powers played volleyball and track and field for the Hillers.

She's a once-in-a-lifetime athlete. The word 'No' isn't in her vernacular. And she's a state champion for volleyball and track and field.

“She just keeps getting better. She just hasn’t peaked. You know she’s going to continue to improve. The sky’s the limit.”

Daily News Male Athlete of the Year 2022

He's the big man on campus with a big heart. He was the leader of the Lincoln-Sudbury football and lacrosse teams the past few years. And he was named the Daily News 2022 Male Athlete of the Year.

“He was a leader and mentor. I was fortunate to be around Nolan.”
