Metro Atlanta non-profit prepping to help thousands who are impacted by Hurricane Ian

A metro Atlanta nonprofit organization is prepared to help thousands of people in South Georgia and Florida who are impacted by Hurricane Ian.

Caring for Others has been responding and helping devastated communities for nearly 20 years. All summer, they have been collecting supplies for this year’s hurricane season.

Officials with the organization told Channel 2′s Elizabeth Rawlins volunteers are currently on standby. Their deployment all depends on when and where the hurricane makes landfall.

Meanwhile, they are still collecting supplies and donations. Their goal is to fill up at least five truckloads with the means to help between two and three thousand people.
