Meriden police searching for suspect in Liberty Bank robbery

Police are investigating after a man robbed a Liberty Bank in Meriden on Wednesday afternoon.

The Meriden Police Department received a 911 call reporting a bank robbery at the Liberty Bank on East Main Street around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank, demanded cash and left with an undermined amount of money before officers arrived. Police describe the suspect as a man wearing a surgical mask, a blue-hooded sweatshirt and a grey T-shirt over the top.

No customers or employees of the bank were injured, according to police.

Police said the man fled in a gray-colored vehicle heading toward the Liberty Street area.

The Meriden Police Department is asking anyone who has cameras on the outside of their homes in the Liberty Street and surrounding areas to see if their cameras may have captured the suspect’s vehicle.
