Memphis football gets commitment from unranked safety/running back Javious Bond
Memphis football received a commitment Wednesday from unranked safety/running back Javious Bond from Georgia.
Bond, who attends Jones County High School, announced his decision on his Twitter account.

According to MaxPreps, Jones, who is 5-foot-9, is a versatile threat on both sides of the ball. He rushed for 943 yards and 14 touchdowns last season and also caught 49 passes for 555 yards and six touchdowns.
He added 69 tackles, three pass deflections and a kickoff return touchdown. Per his Twitter biography, he also runs track and plays both baseball and basketball.

Memphis will need depth at both running back and safety. The Tigers graduate both starting safeties in Quindell Johnson and Rodney Owens while running backs Asa Martin, Marquavius Weaver and Rodrigues Clark are all seniors.
Bond is the 18th commitment in the Tigers' 2023 class and fourth from Georgia.
