Melissa McCarthy’s worst date ever ended with a very indecent proposal

Melissa McCarthy dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about her new film The Kitchen. While she was there, she also recounted the worst date she has ever been on, and it’s a doozy. At the time of the date, McCarthy was a struggling actor living in Los Angeles, CA. And apparently her date was also struggling because she he repeatedly complained about the cost of eating out. The two went to a bar for happy hour and McCarthy’s date thought $6 was a completely unreasonable amount to pay for a chicken sandwich. “At the time I was working, like, three jobs,” recalled McCarthy, “I had probably $28 in my bank account and I was like, ‘If you stop talking about it I'll pick up the check!’” Things got much worse when the date walked her to the front of her apartment building. McCarthy said he gingerly offered her a type “ring,” which his friend had lent him. McCarthy went on to explain, “I'll just say it's not a ring for your finger or your toes.” The ring was actually for him. McCarthy said the date ended right then and there. And everything worked out for the best, as she said, Then I met sweet Ben Falcone.” Adding, “I was like ‘I don't care if you hate me, you're not going anywhere!’”
