Halloween has arrived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue!

Melania Trump and President Trump hosted trick or treaters at the White House's South Lawn on Monday for an early holiday celebration -- just a few days before the House is scheduled to vote on the Democrats' impeachment inquiry.

Despite the turbulent few weeks, the Trumps were all smiles as they passed out candy to children dressed as Winnie the Poo, Spider-Man, Toy Story's Woody and pirates, amongst other adorable costumes. The couple greeted their guests as "The Addams Family" theme song was played by the United States Air Force Strolling Strings behind them.

The Trumps didn't get into the festivities with costumes: Instead, the president opted for a simple navy suit, while the first lady dressed in a Michael Kors trench dress and Manolo Blahnik BB pumps. Layered in '70s-inspired patchwork, a metallic version from the designer's Fall 2019 line is still available for purchase for a cool $7000.

Halloween was first celebrated at the White House with First Lady Mamie Eisenhower, who decorated the iconic building with skeletons, jack-o'-lanterns, pumpkins and broomsticks. President Kennedy and Jackie Kenndy continued the celebrations with their children by hosting trick or treaters in addition to a private Halloween party, but it was President Nixon who initiated a series of public engagements for the holiday.
