She says being on set was "the best week of [her] life."

Meghan Trainor is making big moves this year, and it's barely just begun!

In a surprise announcement last week, the "Made You Look" singer revealed not only an upcoming book, titled Dear Future Mama, but her second pregnancy with husband Daryl Sabara. Later that same day, fans of Hulu's How I Met Your Father were shocked to see her appear as Hilary Duff's neighbor in labor.

The musician has put out five studio albums and built an impressive social media following, but this is her first real foray into the Hollywood side of things. While she's been thinking about making the jump to the small screen, she'd been too nervous to try until this opportunity just sort of fell into her lap, as she shared in a recent interview with Parade, where Trainor dished on everything about her cameo, from scoring the role to shooting on set, as well as what part she hopes may be in her future as a newly minted actress.

"I'm in a really cool mom class, like a music class with Hilary Duff, my queen, like, the person I worship in life," Trainor shares. "And she FaceTimed me one day, which is rare. So I was like, ‘Uh oh, I'm in trouble.’" But instead, Duff invited Trainor to guest star on the series, which she's "a huge fan of."

"She has pictures of me, like, crying on the FaceTime," Trainor jokes. "She was like, ‘You want to give a home birth on my show?’ And I’m like, ‘What?! I've never been in labor, but I would love to! I'll do whatever you ask of me. I will do backflips for you, Hilary Duff.’"

At the time, Trainor wasn't yet pregnant, calling the timing of the episode "the biggest, craziest coincidence ever." She even shares a "fun fact" about one scene, which involved giving birth in a bathtub. "I was on my period. So in the bathtub, I was like, Hilary, if you see my tampon string, don’t panic. She was like, ‘Yeah, I see it.’"

So when Trainor announced her pregnancy hours before the episode aired, "Hilary was like, ‘This is great!’ And I was like, ‘I didn't even plan this!’"

As for her time on set, Trainor says it was "the best week of [her] life." She cried when it was time to leave, especially after how supportive an environment it ended up being. "It was so lovely being with a friend and a person I knew and being like, ‘Am I doing this right? Is this okay?’ And she was like, ‘You're killing it!’"

Trainor's husband was also on set with her, coaching her through the process. "He was there...holding my script and my water and was like, ‘You're killing it!’ He was like my acting coach," she said, adding that it "would be a dream" to film with him someday—especially a rom-com. "I would cry to be able to work with my husband," she said of the Spy Kids alum.
