Meghan McCain reveals strangers tell her she looks 'less fat in person'

Meghan McCain is not here for your backhanded compliments.

“The View” co-host revealed that strangers routinely stop her on the street to comment on her appearance, and it’s not always a great experience.

“Can people please stop coming up to me on the street and telling me I look ‘less fat in person?’” said McCain. “It’s nasty. It happens all the time. It’s so mean,” she added.

McCain spoke of the insulting interactions during a conversation about a recent Teen Vogue interview with Demi Lovato, where the singer revealed she struggles with her body image. “To be honest, I don’t always feel positive about my body,” said Lovato.

“Welcome to the club. Whatever,” responded panelist Joy Behar. “She 27. It’s downhill from now on anyway,” Behar added.

“She’s been through a lot, and I really respect her for opening up,” said co-host Abby Huntsman in defense of Lovato.

Huntsman also shared that she’s turned her back on Twitter and is happier because of it. “I’ve stopped reading Twitter this whole season, and I’m just a happier person,” she said. “It gets into your mind and you start thinking about things you should do differently or be different in some way and, you know, it’s not a way to get up in the morning,” Huntsman added.
