Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's much-anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey appeared to cause a technical issue on the ITV Hub tonight (March 8), as viewers complained that they were struggling to watch the show as it aired on ITV.

Meghan and Harry: A Primetime Special aired in the US yesterday (March 7) on CBS before making its UK debut on ITV tonight, but it seems that the demand from UK viewers to hear what the couple had to say caused some problems.

Many took to Twitter to complain that they weren't able to access the earlier part of the interview on ITV Hub and that they were receiving unexpected error messages.

"Honestly what is going on, this is so annoying," one person tweeted, while another wrote: "ITV hub won't even let me in to watch!" A third added: "@itvhub trying to sign up for account but it just says sorry it isn't possible... guessing you're seeing unprecedented demand."

Digital Spy has contacted ITV for comment.

The in-depth interview featured Prince Harry and his wife Meghan speaking candidly to talkshow host Oprah about their decision to step back from royal duties and leave the UK, their new life in California and the difficulties that they have faced as a couple.

The interview saw Meghan open up about her mental health struggles, her respect for Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, and reports about her relationship with Kate Middleton.

Harry also spoke candidly about his feelings of being "trapped" before he left the UK, his relationships with his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William, and his fears for his wife when she was struggling.

The pair also revealed that they actually got married three days before their televised wedding ceremony in May 2018, while they also shared the news that their second child, who Meghan is currently expecting, will be a girl.

The couple already have 1-year-old son Archie, who was born in May 2019.
