Maury County Public Schools has announced that Amy Davis Roberts will serve as the district’s new supervisor of Career and Technical Education.

"I am excited to meet our Maury County CTE staff and our school administration, as well as our community and industry partners, to determine how we can all work together to continue to advance CTE in Maury County," Roberts told The Daily Herald.

The position was previously held by Dr. Lori Brown who retired from the district in February 2022 and recently began a new career as a community relations specialist with the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Roberts launched her education career at Giles County High School in 2004 as an English Teacher. In 2017, she then became assistant principal at Giles County High School.

After discovering her passion for career and technical education, she moved into the role of CTE Director for the Giles County Board of Education, where she oversaw CTE programs and operations.

"We are very excited to welcome Mrs. Roberts into our Maury County family,” said Lisa Ventura, interim superintendent. “She comes highly recommended from both the state of Tennessee and Giles County School District. We are looking forward to increasing student success in Career and Technical Education with her expertise.”

As Giles County’s CTE Director, Roberts built relationships with community groups and organizations, among many other strengths, to assist her at MCPS.

Roberts received a BA in English from Athens State University and a BS in Psychology in 1996. In 2011 She received a Master of Education from MTSU and her Educational Specialist (EdS) in 2013. Roberts received the Pioneer Award Winner for the South Central Region of TN CTE in 2022.
