Marlboro repeats as Shore Conference girls tennis champions with win over Holmdel

The Marlboro High School girls tennis team repeated as Shore Conference Tournament champions with a 4-1 win over Holmdel Monday in the SCT final at the Park Avenue Tennis Center, Ocean Township.

The Mustangs (11-0) have also won their last 33 matches, dating back to a 4-1 defeat to East Brunswick in a NJSIAA Central East A Group 4 match on Nov. 4, 2020.

Marlboro also won its four matches in the tournament by a combined 19-1.

In Monday's match, the Mustangs swept the singles matches.

Diana Zuba (first singles) defeated Jordan Lee 6-2, 6-1; Lalia Fishman (second singles) defeated Sonya Pereldik 6-3, 6-0; and Olivia Zuba (third singles) defeated Ava Safari 6-0, 6-0.

Marlboro's other win came from the first doubles team of Kayla Salfarlie and Klarissa Salfarlie. They defeated Preeti Parmar and Amelie Baveja 6-1, 6-3.

The second doubles team of Alexandra Lapis and Anugna Parvataneni had the only win for Holmdel (11-1). Lapis and Parvataneni defeated Pramya Surapaneni and Victoria Belokon 6-3, 6-2.
