The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed Nic Petan, Kenny Agostino, Kevin Gravel and Garrett Wilson on waivers with the purpose of being reassigned to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, the club announced Monday.
Egor Korshkov, a 2016 second-round pick that impressed in camp, was sent to the Marlies, while Matt Read was released from his professional tryout agreement.
Petan was acquired by the Maple Leafs from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Par Lindholm in February. The 24-year-old scored one goal in five games upon joining the Maple Leafs.
Agostino signed a two-year contract with the Maple Leafs in July, coming off a season where he posted four goals and 13 points for the New Jersey Devils.
Gravel, a 27-year-old defenceman, split time between the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors and the Edmonton Oilers last year, notching three assists in 36 games at the NHL level.
Wilson signed with the Maple Leafs on a one-year deal in July, and scored two goals and six assists in 50 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins after being promoted from the AHL.
It appears that the Maple Leafs’ opening day roster is set, as the club prepares for their opener against the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday.
