Leafs' Auston Matthews scores outrageous tip-in goal vs. Bruins

There’s no doubt that Auston Matthews can score goals in many different ways, but this tally against the Bruins was just special.

In the second period of Friday night’s heated divisional matchup in Toronto, Matthews was able to score the tying goal with a jaw-dropping deflection.

With his arms fully extended and a Bruins defender pressuring him from behind, the Leafs centre was still able to get his stick to the puck in mid air and put it behind Boston netminder Tuukka Rask.

The entire play started with some hustle from Andreas Johnsson, keeping possession of the puck and handing it off to William Nylander behind the net.

From there, the winger was able to send it to Jake Muzzin at the point to perfectly set up the floating puck to get Matthews’ 14th goal of the season. He has 27 points through 21 games this season.
