Manteca man arrested in connection to 2020 death of wife, whose body was found in canal

A Manteca man was arrested Friday in connection with the death of his wife, whose body was found in the California Aqueduct south of Tracy in 2020, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said they located Carlson at about 12:30 p.m. May 20 in Lathrop and took him into custody without incident.

Chenin Carlson, 36, of Manteca, was found dead in the aqueduct on Dec. 20, 2020, by two fishermen after she had been reported missing by the Manteca Police Department. She was later identified by the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's Office.

Investigators have not released any more information about the case.
