Maisie Williams faces her fears in new trailer for X-Men horror spin-off 'The New Mutants'

The long-awaited superhero horror movie The New Mutants has dropped a new trailer.

The X-Men spin-off has been sat on the shelf for years now, having debuted its first trailer way back in 2017.

Since then, it's been delayed several times, with rumours that at least half of it was set to be reshot, though earlier this year it was confirmed that it was to be released without the planned reshoots.

However, they soon discover they're being held against their will for altogether more nefarious reasons.

Based on the New Mutants Marvel Comic series, Game of Thrones star Williams plays Rahne Sinclair, aka Wolfsbane, with Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Stranger Things actor Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Blu Hunt as Mirage and Henry Zaga as Sunspot.

All bestow special powers, but they are forced to face their fears at the sinister hospital.

Comparisons of John Hughes' The Breakfast Club, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and the third Nightmare On Elm Street movie Dream Warriors have been floated by Boone.

How it's turned out, we'll find out when it's released on 8 April.
