Mainland High School celebrates the Class of 2022

Family and friends packed the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach Tuesday evening when 297 Mainland High School seniors received their diplomas.

Valedictorian Canden Allen, who has enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a cryptologic technician, and salutatorian Sara Casimiro, who will study biomedical engineering at Florida State University, addressed their peers during the ceremony.

Graduation season: Atlantic High School celebrates the Class of 2022

Preparing for the future: CTE programs in Volusia Schools help prepare students for college or the workforce

Tuesday night's celebration was the second graduation ceremony for Volusia County Schools' 2022 graduation season, with 3,905 expected to walk across the stage and flip and their tassels.

These graduates have completed their final two years of high school amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
