ASHLAND MAN TO FLY ACROSS U.S.

Ed High of Ashland, who plans to put on an airplane passenger service to Crater Lake sometime in the future leaves soon for New York City where he will purchase an Ansaldo airplane.

High plans to pilot the plane from New York City to Ashland and launch into the commercial airplane business at once.

DOG AND PONY SHOW MEDFORD NEXT TUESDAY

The first dog and pony show to visit Medford this season will be the Lew F. Cullins Dog and Pony Circus, which will pitch their tents on the grounds across the street from the Mail Tribune on Tuesday, August 2nd, giving an afternoon and evening performance.

Children always enjoy this class of circus and while dogs, ponies, monkeys and goats are the most part of the program, it is announced that aerial, rope spinning and other circus acts are given in conjunction with the entertainment and not forgetting the clowns who will "cut up" for the amusement of young and old.

HANGING GARDEN EVERY MEDFORD BUSINESS HOUSE

Medford has the opportunity to become noted as being a city where the stranger is greeted everywhere with flowers if the proposal of the directors of the Medford Chamber of Commerce are followed next year. They have gone on record as favoring "Hanging Gardens" in front of every business place such as are now found in front of the Pantorium and the Shasta.

There is no reason why business district should not be made attractive to the stranger who passes through the city as it is the out of the ordinary things that are done that makes him talk about Medford when he reaches his home. Such "Hanging Gardens" may also have an influence in bringing him back to Medford as a permanent place of residence as the civic pride shown by these gardens may appeal to him.

5-CENT STREET CAR FARE, JACKSONVILLE

"The fare on the Medford to Jacksonville street car line has been reduced for a short time to 5 cents," said Joe Gagnon today. "This was done to give everybody in Medford a chance to visit the county seat and see the improvements that have been made in that rustling town."
