M Night Shyamalan is still figuring out the ending to his new movie Old
M Night Shyamalan has delivered another classic Shyamalan twist with his upcoming movie Old – because he hasn't actually finished it yet.
Despite the first official trailer for Old dropping at the end of last month, the famed director has revealed that he's currently still "deciding" how to end his latest project.
Based on the graphic novel Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters, Old tells the story of a family who discover that the secluded beach they've visited causes them to age rapidly, reducing their entire lives to a single day.

Of course, this is an M Night Shyamalan movie we're talking about, so it's likely the plot doesn't end there. Where it ends, however, is a mystery, with Shyamalan admitting that he's still "deciding on the minor note; how to end on a minor note".
Hoping to recreate something similar to the final scene of Unbreakable, the director told the 2021 Tribeca Festival: "Unbreakable ends on a kind of a dip, right? He goes to the dark note, that minor note at the end. The guy you thought was the best friend is the villain.
"The minor note sticks to you forever." (Via The Hollywood Reporter).

While we're yet to discover what Old's minor note will be – as is Shyamalan himself – we do at least know the inspiration behind the filmmaker's upcoming thriller.
"My father's very old right now. He has dementia. He comes and goes. And the kids are now directing and singing concerts and, you know, when did this happen?" he said.
"So I made a movie about that feeling."
Old is scheduled for release in cinemas on July 23. Tick tock, Manoj.
