Luxury recliners, dine-in service: Cary’s newest movie theater opens at Fenton

The summer blockbuster season is in full swing, and the Triangle has a new theater option at Cary’s Fenton development.

A new Paragon Theaters location has opened in the latest mixed-use residential and commercial center to open in the town off of Cary Towne Boulevard.

The new movie theater, which already has showtimes online and at the box office for Thursday and this Fourth of July Weekend, will have its grand opening on Friday.

The grand opening will offer raffles, sweepstakes, prizes, food and refreshments from 4 p.m. to close, according to Paragon Theaters.

Showtimes for “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” “The Black Phone,” “Elvis,” “Lightyear” and “Jurassic World Dominion” are available.

The theater offers “Lux Box” dine-seating in its seven auditoriums. The luxury recliners recline, have adjustable heating and tray tables. They can be reserved together or separately. Luxury recliner tickets for adults, seniors and children start at $10.44, according to the Paragon Theater website.

The theatre includes an Axis15 Extreme Theatre, which is described on Paragon’s website as “Raleigh’s largest screen featuring 4K Laser Projection and Dolby Atmos sound technology.” It also means that the screen is tilted 15 degrees toward those reclining seats.

Food and beverages is provided by The Agency Bar & Social, a craft cocktail bar located inside.

The theater will offer free kids summer movie series every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis until August.

A list of the animated children’s movies, which feature the likes of the “Minions” and “Sing” movies, is available online.

Fenton project details

The $850 million Fenton project is one of the largest retail-driven projects under development in the country. That’s according to Hines, the international real estate investor that built Fenton in partnership with South Carolina’s Columbia Development.

Construction delays and supply chain challenges forced the delay of its grand opening, originally scheduled in April.

Fenton’s first retailers that opened in May included Athleta, Sephora, Radiant Waxing, Southern Tide and Williams Sonoma.

Other retailers and restaurants include Altar’d State, Club Pilates, Colletta, Dram & Draught, The Gatorbug, Honeysuckle Gelato, Lululemon, M Sushi, Nike, Pottery Barn and Vestique.

The theater is at 21 Fenton Main St., Cary.
