A giant new slingshot now stands in Franklinton, ready to blast visitors — at least metaphorically — over the Columbus skyline.

The Columbus real estate developer Casto erected the 20-foot-long slingshot at the corner of Sullivant Avenue and Lucas Street, next to Casto's River & Rich development.

Tailor made for photos, the sculpture was designed by Franklinton artist Andrew Lundberg, who runs Lundberg Industrial Arts.

Lundberg called the Franklinton Slingshot “a visual reminder of our momentum as a community while maintaining the mischievous nature of the artists that make us who we are.”
