LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson has a suggestion for the Pittsburgh Pirates with No. 1 pick

The Pittsburgh Pirates have the No. 1 pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. LSU head coach Jay Johnson has some advice for them in regard to that pick.
“Don’t think too hard.” Johnson said.
What’s the context there? The context is that LSU star center fielder Dylan Crews is the No. 1 overall prospect for the draft and as far as Johnson is concerned, he should be their only consideration.
Usually, you’d just applaud the head coach for sticking up for his guy. In this case, he is sticking up for his guy, and I believe he is right. Name a better player in college baseball than Dylan Crews… I’ll wait. Can’t think of anyone? That’s because he is the best player in college baseball, and it isn’t close.
We’re talking about a guy that would’ve been a top-ten draft pick if he could’ve entered the draft last season. In two seasons at LSU, Crews has a batting average of .356 with 22 homers and 72 RBI in the best conference in baseball.
How could you pass up on him? The Pirates have got themselves the No. 1 pick due to some bad decisions. Hopefully, they make the right decision here.
