Lows to drop into the 20s this weekend

Jan. 29—If any houseplants are outside, it is time to bring them in.

Temperatures are projected to drop unusually low in Cobb County this weekend. According to AccuWeather, the high for Saturday is 35 with a low of 22, and the high for Sunday is 52 with a low that will reach back down into the high 20s.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Friday night and early Saturday morning, warning of downed tree limbs that could knock out power for some in central and north Georgia.

The NWS has also issued a "red flag" warning for Saturday afternoon, meaning a combination of low humidity and strong winds throughout the area could lead to the rapid spread of any fires. Use caution if burning something outside is a necessity this weekend.

Temperatures are projected to rise as next week begins, with a high of 59 Monday and a low of 34.
